What Components Were Included in Each Sewing Kit?
This sewing kit contained multiple small components.
Each set included:
3 types of safety pins
1 thimble
3 different thread colors
4 types of buttons
1 pack of sewing needles
1 large OPP bag for final packaging
All components needed to be combined into one complete product.
Because the kit contained many small parts, completing the entire process by one person would require frequent switching between different tasks and could affect consistency during large-volume operations.
Therefore, before starting the bulk assembly, our warehouse team planned the workflow in advance.
Preparing Components Before Final Assembly
Since this project involved multiple different components, some preparation work was completed before the main assembly process.
For example, the button packs were prepared in advance.
Workers placed the buttons into individual OPP bags, making them ready for the final sewing kit assembly.
This preparation helped reduce repeated handling during the main assembly process and allowed the workflow to run more smoothly.
Preparing the Workflow Before Bulk Assembly
Before starting the full 30,000-set project, the warehouse supervisor personally completed the entire assembly process.
This included checking:
Component arrangement
Assembly sequence
Packaging method
Operation steps
By completing the process firsthand, the supervisor could confirm whether the workflow was practical and identify potential issues before large-scale operations started.
This experience also helped during later inspections because the supervisor understood every step of the actual process.
How 7 Workers Completed the Product Kitting Process
Seven warehouse workers participated in the project during the main assembly phase.
The workflow was divided into distinct steps based on the product structure.
Three workers focused on preparing the safety pins and thimbles.
They combined:
Specific types of safety pins
One thimble
were combined into a small package.
The remaining workers handled the final assembly tasks.
The following items were added:
the prepared safety pin and thimble set
Three spools of thread
Four buttons
A pack of precision needles
Finally, all components were placed into a large OPP bag to complete the sewing kit.
By assigning specific responsibilities to each employee, the team maintained a steady workflow and consistent quality.
Quality Checking Before Final Packing
Completed kits were not immediately sealed into shipping cartons.
Before final packing, the warehouse supervisor checked the finished products carefully.
Because the supervisor had already completed the full assembly process before the project started, he could quickly identify potential issues based on practical experience.
The inspection included:
Checking whether any components were missing
Confirming the OPP bag was properly sealed
Ensuring each kit was complete
Verifying packing quantities
Carton Packing and Ocean Shipment Preparation
After inspection, the finished sewing kits moved to the final packing stage.
The products were arranged into standard cartons according to the carton size and packing requirements.
Based on the actual carton capacity, the final packing standard was:
500 sets per carton.
After reaching the required quantity, each carton was checked before sealing.
Before ocean shipment, moisture protection preparation was completed by adding desiccant packs inside the cartons.
The cartons were then sealed and prepared for container loading and shipment to Australia.
